There is only one Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte: the LTO Dapitan Extension Office (DO). A fast, convenient, and affordable service was designed for Dapiteños in the city.
With this branch, the LTO can keep track of local and visiting drivers, car owners, and operators much more easily while they are in the city or within its geographical area of responsibility (GAOR). The LTO’s role is to enforce rules, monitor roads and land transport services in Dapitan City and ensure the safety of both drivers and pedestrians.
Dapitan City, often referred to as “Shrine City in the Philippines,” is also the capital of Mindanao Island. Aside from the famed Rizal Shrine, it is home to Gloria’s Fantasyland, the first amusement park in Mindanao. It is also a tourist attraction in and of itself.
The coastal barangays have clean, beautiful beaches, which are connected by concrete and well-paved roads. These factors make Dapitan City a popular tourist destination for both locals and foreigners, as well as a great location for both business and government offices.
In Zamboanga del Norte, LTO Dapitan is the only LTO office located in the City of Dapitan: the LTO Dapitan Extension Office (EO). In the same way as other LTO offices in the country, the LTO Dapitan Extension Office extends the reach of the agency, allowing it to offer the programs and services of the LTO Central Office to those it intends to serve.
In addition to offering the same LTO programs as the Central Office, it does so on a smaller, more concentrated scale. Dapitan City’s LTO Dapitan Extension Office (EO) offers most of the LTO core programs and services at more convenient, more affordable, and easier rates to those who work behind the wheel—including registration and renewal of motor vehicles (MV) and licenses and permits.
The LTO Dapitan Extension Office (EO) is the only LTO office in Dapitan City, making it the only place for the agency to engage with locals. They also localize their programs, activities, and campaigns to ensure a fast and efficient service to the public. It also reminds the public that the LTO monitors Dapitan’s roads, vehicles, drivers, and pedestrians to ensure their safety.
