In General Santos City, South Cotabato, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) General Santos (GenSan) City has five (5) offices: the General Santos City District Office (DO), the Tambler Extension Office (EO), the General Santos City Licensing Center (LC), the DLRO SM City General Santos, and the DLRO Robinson’s Place. The LTO General Santos City Offices were also created to offer users fast, convenient, accessible, and affordable LTO services, just like the other LTO branches in the Philippines.
By establishing these LTO offices, the agency is now better able to monitor and regulate local and visiting drivers, car owners, and operators, as well as the entire land transport service in GenSan and within its geographical area of responsibility (GAOR). This means they can also maintain their presence in the local land transportation sector and provide their core programs and services to the people they want to keep safe, including drivers and pedestrians.
In the Philippines, General Santos City is in the province of South Cotabato. The city is highly urbanized (HUC) and a leading tuna producer, earning its moniker “Tuna Capital of the Philippines” for its tuna production. In addition to Manny Pacquiao, a former eight division world boxing champion, the island has a rich culture and heritage, water activities, local cuisine, and festivals, earning it a nickname as “Land of Dreamweavers” in tourism marketing and branding.
The LTO General Santos (GenSan) City refers to the following LTO offices in GenSan, South Cotabato: General Santos City District Office (DO), Tambler Extension Office (EO), General Santos City Licensing Center (LC), LTO DLRO Robinson’s Place – General Santos City, and LTO DLRO SM City General Santos. Each of the five LTO offices in the city of GenSan serves as the local frontliner of the LTO Central Office, offering various LTO programs and services within reach of local transacting public. Most of the LTO’s core programs and services are made available and accessible through these offices to the locals who need them, particularly those involved in the logistics industry.
LTO General Santos City District Office (DO)
The LTO General Santos City District Office (DO) serves as the primary go-to office for both locals and visitors seeking documents to comply with LTO requirements. It offers better LTO services by bringing closer the Secretariat’s activities and campaigns to keep the people safe on the road, but it is also a busier LTO branch compared to the other smaller, more specialized ones.
LTO Tambler Extension Office
The LTO Tambler Extension Office (EO), as its name suggests, is located in Barangay Tambler, General Santos City. It serves as one of the agency’s operating arms in the local area, aiming to make the agency’s programs and services more accessible and engaging to the locals. In doing so, it literally and metaphorically sits in the middle of traffic, which is a fitting tribute to the agency’s goal of keeping roads safe and regulated.
LTO General Santos City Licensing Center
General Santos City Licensing Center is an LTO agency within General Santos City that serves as the agency’s off-site license printing office. In the City Hall Compound, the LTO General Sanyos City Licensing Center was established for the purpose of making LTO licensing and licensing renewal services faster and more convenient for drivers.
LTO DLRO SM City General Santos
A LTO DLRO was opened in SM City General Santos for the convenience of the transacting public, just like the others in the country. The LTO office is located at the third floor level of SM City GenSan and is a satellite office of the GenSan City Licensing Center. It is not a full service LTO office, but it does offer fast and convenient license renewal services to those intending to renew their existing licenses.
LTO DLRO Robinson’s Place – General Santos City
This LTO DLRO is located at Robinsons Place, J. Catolico St., in Lagao, General Santos City, for convenience and ease of transaction. This LTO DLRO is located in a mall and along one of the city’s major thoroughfares, so it not only offers good visibility, but also offers better, faster, and more convenient license renewal services.
