What is a Conductor’s License?

According to the Philippines’ Land Transportation Office (LTO), a conductor’s license is the permit or authority granted to a qualified person by the agency that enables him or her to work as a conductor and to perform the duties and responsibilities of a conductor on public utility vehicles (PUVs) like buses and jeepneys.

It is the conductor’s job to collect fares, manage passenger entry and exit, and maintain order during the trip. Conductor licenses are specific to the role of conductors, unlike driver’s licenses, which authorize an individual to operate a vehicle. In the Philippines, conductors play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of public transportation.
